WASHED DENIM

For years, every pair of K&R jeans has been made from raw deadstock denim, chosen for its lower environmental impact, longevity and the unique character it develops over time. While we still believe raw denim is the more sustainable option, we've long wanted to explore washed denim, offering a softer, lived-in feel from day one.

Like all of our denim, our washed styles are crafted from deadstock fabric. The only difference is an additional finishing process after the garment is made. We know washing denim increases its environmental impact, so we partnered with a specialist London laundry using modern technologies that reduce water, energy and chemical use wherever possible, including enzyme washing, laser finishing and low-water application methods.

Every stage of production remains in London, allowing us to oversee quality closely while supporting local manufacturing. The independent, female-founded laundry we work with shares our commitment to responsible production and investment in British craftsmanship.

Our washed denim costs more to produce, and our pricing simply reflects that increased production cost - not a higher margin. As always, we'll continue looking for ways to reduce our impact while creating clothing built to last.
