Heat and excessive movement are the key factors that cause knitwear to shrink. Water that is too hot will cause the fibres in the fabric to expand and then shrink when they get cooler. Too much movement when wet e.g. an aggressive cycle in the machine can pull and stretch the fibres causing the garment to lose its shape. Friction can also cause snagging or piling, especially in looser weaves.

Hand wash cold. The water should be cool to touch.

Use a delicate detergent and gently squeeze out the excess water by hand, do not wring.

Air dry by hanging or laying the product flat to maintain shape. Do not tumble dry.
